“Mum, I want to ride a horse….. Can you bring me?”, Wei asked

I am puzzled. I was thinking “Hm…… I am not sure why you wanted to ride a horse…….????”

I said, “Well, let’s find out. I recalled a place where I saw my friend bring her kids to a farm where they produce fresh milk and there are also animal farms and rides.”

I then began to google and managed to find that place.

Voila, last Sunday we visited that farm and Wei managed to ride a horse.

He enjoyed the ride and even asked the horse guardian if he could pet the horse.

Yuen also wanted to ride the horse so he got his turn.

After that, we visited the farm and the kids managed to feed the deer.

The rides were fun too.

Children are born to be curious, want to try and explore new things and engage in these activities. From these experiences, they can learn and master a skill or even have the courage to explore new things.

That’s when they get empowered to do things on their own and become more independent, confident, and resilient.

This is how you can get your children to explore or learn new things.

Contrary to popular belief, some people think that some people are born courageous and some people are not.

Courage is a muscle. You can become more and more courageous when you use it more.

Sadly, most kids are staying indoors, engaging in their mindless scrolling on the screen, gaming, YouTube or TikTok.

This mindless scrolling does not stimulate any courage to explore, experience, and engage.

This mindless scrolling only promotes being sedentary lifestyle, leaving one to be passive in their life, and living aimlessly in their life.

In the short term, it makes it challenging to concentrate on important tasks, leading to decreased productivity. Over the long term, the habit of scrolling may contribute to attention disorders and an inability to sustain focus for extended periods.

Many children are so addicted to their screens that they forget their homework, eat, sleep, and bond with their family members.

Don’t get me wrong. Technologies are also good.

Without technology, we wouldn’t be connected worldwide, learn new things, and get our work done much faster and easier.

We can also use the same method to apply technology to help the children to learn things, discover new ideas and empower them to be a better future of themselves.
